Profile Questions

How often is the likes count on my profile updated?

The likes count is updated every 24h.

If I delete my post, will the likes remain counted on my profile?

Yes, the likes will remain counted on your profile even if you delete the post, or even if the post gets automatically deleted (for example with stories).

What are badges?

Badges are acknowledgments, a way to show that you achieved a certain objective on Waveful. You can show badges in your profile bio with maximum 3 badges.

How do I add a badge to my profile?

Go to your account settings, go to the "Badges" page and drag and drop the badge to select it.

What are colors for?

Colors are used to personalize your profile to make it unique. You can find special colors in the shop section from your profile settings.

How to unlock the secret badge?

The secret badge is a mysterious badge that you can find it somewhere on Waveful. Unfortunately, we don’t even know where to find it..

How to fast-scroll back up when viewing the posts of a profile?

When you are viewing the posts of a profile you can fast-scroll back up by clicking the username shown in the upper left corner of the post.

I have more than one Waveful account, can I quickly switch between accounts?

At the moment it is not possible, you will have to sign out and sign in every time you want to switch from one account to another.

Islands Questions

What are Islands on Waveful?

Islands are communities. They were born as a place where everyone can share their interests and passions.

How often can I create an Island?

To promote the creation of quality Islands, you can create an Island every 7 days and only if you have the Island Score over 60 in all your other Islands.

How many views are needed before an Island can be created?

You can create your Island right away, no minimum views are required.

Can I change the "unique name" of my Island?

It is not possible to change unique name, because it represents the subject of the Island. You would not want to join an Island about "Food" to later find out it has changed to "Travels".

What is the "unique name" of an Island?

Is the unique name of an Island, you need to choose a name according to the topic you wish to discuss in your Island, for example: if you are talking about "chocolate", your unique name could be named "ChocolateLovers".

What is the Island pass?

The Island pass is the badge that an Island administrator chooses to access his Island, for example: if an Island administrator chooses that to enter his Island it is necessary to have the"Creator" badge, you will be able to access his Island only after unlocking the Creator badge.

Is it possible to delete an Island?

Yes it is possible, you can delete automatically an Island with less than 500 members. For Islands with a greater number of members, contact @WavefulSupport from the app.

How do I tag an Island in the app?

To tag an Island you will need to use the Island emoji followed by the name of the Island (example: 🏝Waveful).

Can I assign administrator permissions to a user of my Island?

Yes, you can assign administration abilities directly from the settings of your Island.

How many administrators can I put in my Island?

You can have a maximum of 20 administrators per Island.

Can I publish in multiple Islands at the same time?

No, it isn’t possible. Otherwise Islands would be used to spam.

Do posts that are posted by other users in my Island affect my monthly earnings?

No, there are no monetary benefits if users post in your Island.

What is the Island score?

The Island score is a special number near your Island image, and is a measure of how good an Island is. It is based on 3 values: popularity (is based on the number of members), involvement (is based on the level and quality of interactions), and quality (is based on how well an Island is run by its administrators).

How do I start an Island challenge?

There are two methods to start an Island challenge: you can press the ' +' button on your dashboard at the bottom, once pressed, at the right you will find the lightning symbol, which indicates that you have the possibility to start an Island challenges; you can also start a challenge from the settings of your Island by pressing the settings wheel at the top right of your Island homepage.

Who can start an Island challenge?

Island challenges can only be initiated by Island administrators.

Do Island challenges include rewards?

No, Island challenges do not include any prize, unless the administrator decides to reward the most beautiful post (for example with one or more Superlikes).

What are the requirements to start a live show?

There are 3 simple requirements to start a live broadcast, we list them below:
1- Be an administrator of an Island;
2- Have at least 1000 followers on your user profile;
3- Be of age.

How do I share my Island link?

To share the link of your Island go to the settings page of your Island and press the share button (a button with three dots in the upper right corner).

How to fast-scroll back up when viewing the posts of an Island?

When you are viewing the posts of an Island you can fast-scroll back up by clicking the unique name shown in the upper left corner of the post.

Creators Questions

How do I become a Creator on Waveful?

To become a Creator on Waveful, at the moment, you need 5000 total post views. Once you have reached the 5000 views, just go to your account settings, go to the "Creator" page and follow the procedure.

Once I become a Creator, what are the benefits in the app?

Becoming a Creator on Waveful gives you the chance to start earning real money based on the engagement of your posts and based on the superlikes you receive. After you become Creator, you will unlock the Creator badge.

Payments Questions

What is the monthly payments algorithm based on?

Monthly payments are made in this way: at the end of the month, we look at the ad revenue of the app, this revenue is divided in half, 50% pay for the servers and the expenses of the social, 50% is divided among all Creators based on the engagement they generated on their posts. The engagement is measured by taking all these statistics in consideration: views, view time, number of likes, number of comments, number of shares.
Superlikes also work in a similar way: we keep half of the revenue of the Superlike, the Creator that receives the Superlike keeps the other half.

How is money transferred from my Waveful account to my bank?

To withdraw money from your Waveful profile you need to connect a payment method.

What payment methods does Waveful allow to withdraw money?

Payment methods granted by Waveful may vary by country, check the 'payments' section from your profile settings to find out more.

I don't have a payment method, what can I do?

Don't worry, the money generated will remain on your Waveful account and will always be ready to be withdrawn when you want.

I don't have a payment method, if i don't withdraw the money i lose it?

The money earned will remain on your Waveful balance and you can withdraw it whenever you want by linking a payment method to your profile.

How often and when are payments made?

You can withdraw the money accrued on Waveful whenever you want, as long as you have reached at least €5.

Can I link the same payment method for two accounts?

Yes, you can link the same payment method to multiple Waveful account.

What is the minimum amount that can be withdrawn from my Waveful account?

You can start withdrawing your monthly earnings when you reach a minimum of €5.

How much is the monetary value of a Superlike assigned to a user?

The value of a Superlike for a Creator varies from month to month, as it is calculated by considering how much Waveful receives in total from all Superlikes bought in that month (post state taxes and post Apple/Google fees) and then sharing that value at 50% with the Creators. Therefore, the actual value can change based on users' shopping habits (depending on which package of Superlikes are bought in the month, whether larger or smaller packages). Let's take an example: You are buying 50 Superlikes for €19.99 on an Android device in a state where VAT is 22%. By making this purchase you are sending €19.99 to Google. Google pays VAT to your state, in this case €3.61 VAT. Google then retains 15% commission, in this case €2.46. The remainder of 19.99-3.61-2.46=€13.92 is sent to Waveful. Waveful then receives €13.92 from your purchase of 50 Superlikes. This value is shared 50/50 with Creators. So €6.96 is kept by Waveful to pay the costs of the platform, €6.96 is instead redistributed to Creators for Superlikes received. In this specific example, therefore, the value of a Superlike for a Creator is €6.96/50=€0.1392

Shop Questions

What are Superlikes?

Superlikes are more than a like. Superlikes are a way of showing someone that you like something they shared. For example, if your friend made a painting and posted it on Waveful, you could give them a Superlike to show them that you really appreciate their work, he will also receive a cash reward from your Superlike! You can purchase Superlikes in the store section of your account settings.

What's a Premium profile?

Profile Premium gives you access to special features and tools that help you show off your creativity and personality. You can purchase Premium in the store section of your profile settings, or get Premium for free by referring a friend to Waveful.

Minor Safety Questions

What is the minimum age to create an account on Waveful?

The minimum age depends on the laws of your country, in fact each country has a different "age of data consent". The minimum age to create an account on Waveful is the same as the "age of data consent" of your country, but never below 13 years old.

What is the minimum age to view sensitive contents?

Sensitive posts, sensitive Islands and sensitive accounts are hidden to people younger than 18 years old.

I'm under 18, why don't I see sensitive posts?

Sensitive posts are hidden from minors to protect their sensitivity.

Moderation Questions

Can I post content showcasing nudity on Waveful?

Waveful does not allow pornographic content and does not allow content depicting integral nudity, so we do not allow content in which the anal area or genital area is visible or in which the level of coverage of such areas is not sufficient. Instead content with low level nudity or deemed particularly provocative is shown only after clicking a warning and is never shown to minors.
